Cocktails and cupcakes were a recipe for Friday fun last week, when Marketing Sciences celebrated the grand opening of its new roof top terrace!
Amy and Sam from Muffin’s Dream (our charity of the year) whose aim is to support children with disabilities across Hampshire, not only helped us to organise the event but kindly came to judge our cupcake competition. Cosmos, Mojitos, Mocha Martians and my very own Spooner Specials were knocked back with aplomb, whilst the company enjoyed the early evening rays out on our newly decked and furnished roof top terrace.
You can check out our charity of the year’s Facebook page and give them a ‘like’, if you like, here
£553 was raised from a combination of bullying sponsoring the perennially trousered Sadie and our MD Jane into cocktail dresses, the proceeds of the evening along with the sale of a bike kindly donated by Laura A.
I write this from a corner bench of our roof terrace (where else?) looking out over Winchester Cathedral. It’s an idyllic scene, swallows dart overhead, the noise from the street below drifts up and St. Catherine’s Hill is visible to my…right? Where’s a compass when you need one? So much for being poetic. Anyway, the bunting and paper lanterns have been taken down now but we are all looking forward to many more sunny days of roof top lunches and after work wind downs. Next time you are in Winchester, pop by and we’ll sit a spell, up on the roof.
